DevOps Engineer (Co-op)

Kitchener, ON - Full-Time


Harled is a small, boutique software development team based in Kitchener, Ontario specializing in Ruby on Rails. Since forming in 2017, we have delivered projects for national defence, Indigenous reconciliation and tooling for high-performance teams. Are you interested in exploring a DevOps role, or further honing your existing skills? We're looking for a highly motivated co-op student to join the team and take our DevOps practice to the next level.

The right candidate will be passionate about all aspects of the development to production pipeline with a strong desire to deliver a consistent, enjoyable developer experience along the way. Given the nature of our business, keeping security integrated and automated is a must.

Remuneration & benefits:

  • $25-30/hr based on experience

Responsibilities:

  • Define, build and operate our DevSecOps practice and tooling
  • Drive a culture of speed and quality
  • Manage git to ensure we have reproducible builds and drive accountability
  • Manage dev/stage/prod cloud environments

Experience required:

  • Completed at least 2 years of a university program (Computer Science, Engineering)
  • Experience with continuous integration / continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Experience with GitHub or Azure DevOps Services
  • Experience with Docker

Our dream candidate also has:

  • You have experience with the Department of National Defence
  • You have experience working in a startup

Hours of work:

  • You are expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with a bulk of the time during core working hours of 9am to 5pm EST, Monday through Friday. Due to the nature of the role, additional hours and hours outside of core working hours may be required and will be discussed on an as-required basis.
